Refund Policy

Read the refund policy for Godes. Understand when refunds are allowed, how to request them, and the process for digital goods.

Last Updated: September 11, 2025

1. Overview

Godes is a digital marketplace connecting buyers and sellers. Because digital goods cannot be physically returned, we have established specific refund rules to protect both buyers and sellers.

This policy explains when refunds are allowed, how to request one, and what the process looks like.

2. Requesting a Refund

To initiate a refund request, please navigate to your account Order History section and click the Request Refund button next to the relevant order.

  • You must submit your request within 30 days of the original purchase date.
  • You can only submit a refund request once per order.
  • We recommend contacting the seller directly first to resolve any issues.

More detailed information about the refund process can be found here.

3. Valid Reasons for a Refund

  • Duplicate Purchase: If you accidentally purchased the same item twice, we will refund the duplicate transaction.
  • Item Not Working as Advertised: If the item contains technical defects that prevent it from functioning as advertised by the seller. You must first contact the seller for support. If the seller cannot resolve the issue caused by a defect in the item itself, a refund will be granted. Providing detailed error logs is mandatory.

4. When Refunds Are Not Given

  • You have not provided sufficient detail to validate your claim.
  • You lack the technical knowledge required to use the item.
  • The item is not functioning due to misconfiguration or unsupported environment.
  • The item is no longer available on our platform.
  • The item does not meet your personal expectations, or you changed your mind.
  • The request was submitted more than 30 days after purchase.

5. Exchanging Licenses

If you purchased the incorrect license type (e.g., bought a Regular License but needed an Extended License), you may purchase the correct license within 30 days of the original purchase and open a support ticket. We will process a refund for the first license.

Note: We do not allow downgrading licenses (e.g., from Extended to Regular).

6. Disputing a Refund Request

If a seller rejects your refund request but you believe it qualifies, you have the right to escalate the issue. Click the Open Dispute link on the refund request page. When opening a dispute, provide a comprehensive description and any further technical proof.

7. How Refund Requests Work

1. Creating a Refund Request

  • Log in to your account, click on your avatar in the top right, and select Order History.
  • Find the relevant order and click the Request Refund button.
  • Fill out the refund request form completely.

2. The Request Process

  • Once a buyer submits a request, the seller has 5 days to assist and decide.
  • If the seller does not respond, the request is automatically approved.
  • If the seller responds but does not make a final decision, the request is automatically closed.
  • The buyer can dispute the decision by clicking Open Dispute.
  • Once a dispute is opened, the seller has another 5 days to submit information. Failure to respond results in automatic approval.

3. Processing the Refund

  • If approved, Godes will process the transaction, typically taking 1-2 business days.
  • For wallet or PayPal payments, funds appear almost immediately.
  • For credit card payments, it may take 5-10 business days depending on your bank.
